Everything You Need to know about our Beech Wood Smokin’ Chips:
Our Beech Smokin’ wood chips are crafted using pruning’s from managed woodlands. Beechwood is a mild hardwood which will impart a delicate, slightly nutty, smoky flavour. Beechwood compliments poultry, pork and fish. Just imagine beech smoked salmon, beechwood pork sausages and beech smoked bacon!
Wood smoking chips can be used on a charcoal BBQ in handfuls directly onto the coals or wrapped in a foil packet pierced with holes. The chips can be used in a smoker box which can also be used on a gas grill too!
At The Green Olive Firewood Company, we recommended soaking our wood chips in water for around 30 minutes. Then add the soaked chips to a smoking box or directly into the charcoal in the BBQ or Smoker. This way the smoke will infuse with the food and enhance its flavouring. After all, cooking is all about how good the food tastes.
Learn more about how to use our wood chips and chunks by reading our step by step guide here. Smoking meat is only the beginning; after you have mastered the art of smoking meat, you can move on to smoking seafood, vegetables and even pizza!
