Any woods or wood products we import, such as olive wood, come from authorised and managed farms or woodlands, and we undertake full due diligence in ensuring all the wood we use is from managed and sustainable sources.

Our fuels are Biomass Supplier List (BSL) approved for use, and we have our kiln drying facilities at our farm in West Sussex powered by our waste wood and approved for the renewable heat incentive (RHI). We only sell sustainable quality firewood logs with a high calorific heat value.

Kiln drying can seem like a tedious process to those not familiar with it. While there are multiple steps to get the desired result, the process is faster and more controlled than a traditional seasoning process. Once a tree has been cut down, the logs are shaped and prepared depending on their purpose. After the logs have been shaped, they are then placed into a closed drying chamber. The heat source works to suck out the moisture trapped inside the wood. Kiln drying aims to reduce the moisture level of the wood and eliminate the need for moisture meters.
